My favorite budget color film stock!

Rated 5 out of 5
March 24, 2020

I have shot a lot of color film stocks but this is easily my favorite, It has really fine grain for what it is, Strangely It is sold in 3 packs for $12.50 which is the only con. I find that this film stock has really vibrant colors and that it renders tones realistically.
This film is extremely forgiving for novices and its extremely hard to mess up a shot.

Great “cheap” color film

One of my favorite inexpensive color films. Rich colors and great contrast. I usually shoot it a touch under box speed, 320 or so.

My go-to color negative film for 35mm

Very decent color negative film at a very friendly price. Great contrast and punchy colors, grain can get a little intense when underexposed by two or more stops, but very versatile nonetheless. You can’t find this film anywhere in the Philippines, they go out of stock — and fast!

This film is offers a bang for your buck. It’s great for shooting in natural light or in bright situations.
Handles pushing up 1 stop very well creating a rich contrast.

Decent film to get Walmart or CVS

This was the first film I bought back in February 2018. Since it was local at my local WalMart for a 4 pack for $10. This film is good at shooting outdoors since the 4th color strip really makes the colors vibrant altho I don’t like how its sometimes to contrasty and when shooting indoors you get a green tint. This is decent if you need a film badly and the place you have is Walmart. If you want a good 400iso cheap film. I recommend Kodak Ultramax 400

I love this film! I’ve shot a few rolls, and I’ve almost always love the results! It doesn’t handle underexposure very well, which is why I tend to overexpose by a stop. It’s got great, vibrant colors when I do so, with surprisingly pleasing greens in the shadows. These greens show up quite often, as you can see in some of my sample photos, but it doesn’t really bug me. The best part of this film is its low price. On B&H, you can get 3 for $10. The quality of this film is great for that price! It has become my go-to film as a college student on a budget.

An amazing color film! You can find this film anywhere has some really nice warm tones when shot in golden light and also has a nice grain structure. Grain is low when exposed properly but increases in dark underexposed shadow areas. This is my staple film I always keep a couple of rolls packed away in my fridge!
